There are a variety of factors that influence a parent's choice to immunize, delay or refuse vaccination; it is not as simple as "for or against". Participants will gain specific skills to communicate with parents in a time-efficient manner to build trust and address a range of vaccine concerns. Results of recent focus groups with vaccine-hesitant parents and with practicing pediatricians who identify best practices in vaccine safety communication will be shared. This workshop will be co-presented by Dean Blumberg, MD FAAP, Wilbert Mason, MD, FAAP and Kris Calvin, CEO of the American Academy of Pediatrics, California.
